I'm back, but without photos, because---long story short---my camera is out of commission and I need to get a new one. Suggestions, anyone? I've noticed that many people seem to like the Canon EOS Rebel T1i. I consider myself somewhat of a photography novice, so I can't say anything about what I want in a camera other than that it does well in low-light situations, takes crisp photographs, and I can (I guess this goes without saying?) use it on both manual and automatic settings. I took a b&w photo class in undergrad and Photoshop in art school, so I understand the workings of a camera.....but I have yet to look into the differences between specific kinds of cameras and why I would want one more than the other. If you're anything like me, you'd rather have someone else tell you all about it than do the research!
Other news: I'm happy to announce that the Willaby shop will have a new direction come late fall. What will it look like? I'm not going to predict that ahead of time because I always seem to change direction after I say something on the blog about what I'm going to do with the shop. You never know what will happen once you actually start working with your materials. But I just placed a big order for dyes, so I can tell you that there will be some hand-dyeing involved.
Another announcement: Willaby products will soon be sold at The Beehive in the Edgewood Retail District here in Atlanta! Once the goods are all in place, I will do a post complete with images and details about my new items there, which will be focused on baby and home. My product line will be based on the baby items I've posted here on the blog, most recently the hand-dyed blanket, squishy block, etc. that everyone responded to so positively.
Now off to email my mom and ask her if she can send some pics I took on her camera while I was home....maybe I can get those up on the blog.
Awesome! That's so exciting about The Beehive. Can't wait to see the photos of your goods in the store.
ReplyDeleteThe pendant is this one from CB2:

It's great. It only takes one bulb. And it does light up the room and give a nice diffused glow, but you might need some task lighting.
Glad to see you back!
